‘Since Rodri won…’ – Barcelona star reveals Ballon d’Or dream | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri has on Monday admitted that winning the Ballon d’Or is something of a personal dream.

The subject of the next ‘Golden Ball’ has of course long proven a prominent one in the chatter in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes with a number of Barcelona’s standout stars in the midst of nothing short of sensational individual campaigns.

Amid an ongoing search for the treble, the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and the aforementioned Pedri have all been named as legitimate contenders to be named world football’s best player.

And though he has previously been keen to play the subject down, on Monday, the latter of this trio at last admitted that a Ballon d’Or triumph is very much on his wishlist.

Speaking to the media, in quotes gathered by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pedri admitted:

“Since Rodri won the Ballon d’Or, it has become clear that a player who controls the midfield and dictates the tempo of the game can win this award. It has always been my dream to win the Ballon d’Or, but right now my focus is on team trophies”.
