HLN are reporting that Sint Truiden are set to sign Joedrick Pupe from Vancouver Whitecaps. The former Dender defender was set to make a return to Belgium with Kortrijk, however once he knew that Sint Truiden were interested he decided to cancel the move. Instead of joining Kortrijk in the second tier of Belgian football, Pupe will link up with Sint Truiden who currently sit second in the Belgian Pro League.
The 28-year-old Pupe left Dender after two seasons with the club to join Vancouver Whitecaps. However, Pupe only made two appearances for Vancouver Whitecaps after joining them and its clear why he would like to return to Belgian football. Having lost Rein Van Helden to Antwerp, Sint Truiden clearly felt they needed to bring in some defensive reinforcements. Pupe helped Dender win promotion during the 2023/2024 season, before making 29 appearances in the top flight the following season, providing five assists.
