Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine has revealed what the team will miss about outgoing defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi.
The Hluhluwe-born center-back played his final match for the Buccaneers in the Carling Knockout Cup final against Marumo Gallants this past Saturday, and lifted the trophy as captain of the day.
Mbokazi will join Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Chicago Fire on a deal that runs until 2029, with a club option to extend by a further 12 months, after the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Now, the Bucs shot-stopper says the 20-year-old's presence and energy in the dressing room will solely be missed as he gears up for his American adventure.
“Presence in the dressing room, how he is crazy, how he jokes around with everyone. He is a very important piece of the puzzle in the group. He brought his own personality, his own Mbekezeli in the group,” Chaine said.
"And I think that is the important thing in a sports team - that everyone brings himself, he becomes himself, that's the most important thing we will miss from a player like that.
Mbokazi played 39 matches in the colors of Pirates, scoring two goals and providing as many assists, while winning the MTN8 title and recently the League Cup.
