South Africa under-20 international Siviwe Magidigidi has broken his silence on his move from Siwelele FC to Belgian First Division B outfit K Beerschot V.A.
The 20-year-old striker put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at Kiel until June 2029.
Developed at the Ubuntu Academy in Cape Town, Magidigidi scored four goals and provide a solitary assist in 12 Betway Premiership matches this season - his debut campaign.
Moreover, he netted twice for South Africa at the under-20 FIFA World Cup that recently took place in Chile, where Amajita crashed out in the Round of 32.
Reflecting on his transfer, Magidigidi vowed to repay the faith Beerschot have invested in him, as he looks to use the opportunity to enhance his growth as a footballer.
“I'm incredibly grateful for the trust Beerschot has placed in me. This is my first adventure outside South Africa, and I see it as a great opportunity to further develop myself. I look forward to giving everything for the club and the supporters,” he told the club's media department.
Sporting Director Murat Akin expressed satisfaction with luring a player of Magidigidi's quality to Belgium, with the club in contention to earn promotion to the topflight.
“With Siviwe, we're brining in a young, dynamic attacker with a lot of growth potential. He fits perfectly with our vision of developing talent and strengthening it over time,” he said.
Beerschot sit third with 36 points accumulated from 19 Challenger Pro League outings, and Magidigidi could make his debut when his team faces KSC Lokeren on Saturday, 24 January.
