Six Nottingham Forest deals that could happen before the deadline

Nottingham Forest are braced for a busy finish to January, despite head coach Sean Dyche previously insisting it would be a quiet window.

Their sole addition so far is Napoli loanee Lorenzo Lucca, who was ineligible for Brentford and for Thursday’s Europa League win over Ferencvaros, and could debut against Crystal Palace on Sunday, 2pm kick-off. Fabrizio Romano reports that Forest have asked Inter to take Davide Frattesi on loan with an option to buy.

Attacking reinforcements remain a priority, with another forward sought to bolster Dyche’s options. Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta is among those admired, though alternatives are being considered if he is unavailable.

A left-back is also on the agenda, with numbers tight after Oleksandr Zinchenko’s departure and Nicolo Savona’s knee injury. Napoli’s Mathias Olivera has been linked.

Midfield targets include Brighton and Hove Albion’s Yasin Ayari, alongside Frattesi. A goalkeeper could also arrive, with summer signing John Victor expected to miss the rest of the season and talks held over Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Jose Sa.

Outgoings are possible before the deadline. Centre-back Willy Boly is out of contract in the summer and could move earlier, while left-back Cuiabano has been linked with a return to Brazil.
