Chelsea conceded a late equaliser to Burnley this afternoon, having been reduced to ten men earlier in the game, adding to two bad stats.

It was head in hands time at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, where an extra time goal cost ten man Chelsea two points.

Some shocking marking from a set piece allowed Zian Flemming to score just minutes before full time.

“More points squandered at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea,” said Chris Wise of the BBC at full time.

“It’s yet another red card too, and that’s become a theme of Chelsea’s season. It really costly one today as it completely changed the game.”

Wesley Fofana’s red was the SIXTH in the Premier League this season. No other team has more than four. We’ve had as many reds as home wins. In all competitions, the number has reached eight.

The red cards are also a large factor behind the other dreadful stat that’s haunting us this year – the dropped points. The Blues have dropped 17 this season at Stamford Bridge alone. That’s the most of any team in the league. It’s 19 in all competitions, with only relegation threatened West Ham beating us on 20.

With some tough games coming up, it’s not going to get any easier either. This was a brilliant chance to earn 3 points after a nice rest, and we’ve blown it.

Cole Palmer played 74 minutes today and was heavily involved – but he wasn’t decisive in front of goal, when he usually makes the difference.

The late equaliser for Burnley came from a corner, and the marking was truly shocking despite the number of central defenders on the pitch.
