Skubala confirms double Bristol City boost ahead of Millwall clash | OneFootball

Bristol City boss Michael Skubala has confirmed Emil Riis and Yu Hirakawa are available for selection against Millwall.

The pair have been working their way back to full fitness, but Skubala says both are now ready to feature in City’s Championship opener.

“We’re okay,” Skubala told Bristol Live when asked about team news.

“We’ve got a couple of niggles that have come about after the Walsall game.

“We’re in a position where we’ve made lots of additions to the group, so the depth of the group is not a problem. Maybe positionally, we might have to just assess the rest of the week to see how we go.”

Skubala was then asked whether he would be comfortable starting either Riis or Hirakawa, although he acknowledged neither player is currently ready to complete 90 minutes.

“Yep,” he said.

“They’re probably not starting for 90; they’re not in that place. But Yu and Emil, they’re ready for selection, for sure.”
