AC Milan are not unfamiliar with the French market, but they are not always successful in their pursuits of talent from the country, and the latest showing of this has taken place.
It is not a strange thing at this point for Milan to be linked with talent from France, especially if the player in question is a younger talent, available under parameters which match the RedBird ideologies.
So, when talented 18-year-old Tidiam Gomis hit the market, the Rossoneri’s interest was expected, and it arrived shortly after. Available on a free and with an exciting profile, it seemed like a Geoffrey Moncada move, certainly.
However, it seems that the young winger is moving to Germany, despite the efforts of Milan. According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, RB Leipzig are ‘confident’ of wrapping up a deal for the SM Caen starlet and believe that they will wrap up a deal in the summer at the latest.
The Journalist states that the Rossoneri had sent a ‘concrete, long-term’ offer to the winger but it seems that he may be opting for a move elsewhere. Considering he was available for free, it is certainly a move with little downside, especially considering he has many years of development still to go.
