Alvaro Morata has passed a fitness test this morning and therefore has been called up for the game against Lecce, but it remains to be seen how much he will actually be used.

For the win against the Nerazzurri, Fonseca surprised many by fielding a team with four forwards, namely Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao on the flanks then Tammy Abraham alongside Alvaro Morata up front, and there were questions about whether that will/can be replicated.

However, that then became a doubt about whether Morata will play at all, given that Fonseca confirmed that he intends to call him up but might not use him due to bursitis (inflamed joints), with one eye on the Bayer Leverkusen game on Tuesday night.

Peppe Di Stefano spoke live on Sky this afternoon to give a brief update a few hours before Milan take on Lecce, and his words were relayed by MN24.

“Milan with a strong desire to return to the top of the table, confirmed the presence of Morata, who will also have to do a short test to understand how he is, and also confirmed the absence of Okafor,” he said.

“It is not certain that the Spaniard will be able to play from the start, for this reason Loftus-Cheek should be the starter. Over 70,000 fans are expected at San Siro, there is a desire to do something special after having won the derby against Inter so well.”
