After scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu, AC Milan will be without Alvaro Morata this weekend, after the striker suffered an injury in training.
Spirits are high going into this weekend’s fixture, expectedly so after beating Real Madrid in the Champions League. However, some injury news has arrived this morning which may lower confidence somewhat.
As Sky (via Milan News) reports, Alvaro Morata was rushed to hospital this morning after suffering a ‘severe head injury’ during the training session, colliding with Strahinja Pavlovic. For this reason, he will ‘definitely’ be unavailable for this weekend’s fixture.
The report continues, stating that the striker has already had an MRI scan which came back negative, and he will continue to be monitored hourly at the hospital in Legano, which is standard practice for injuries of this kind.
Reports had suggested earlier today that the striker could miss the game to be given a chance to rest by Paulo Fonseca, so the plans to be without Morata are not brand new. However, the Portuguese head coach will be forced to make a decision rather than making it on his own terms.
All three strikers – Tammy Abraham, Luka Jovic and perhaps even Francesco Camarda – will be eligible, and imaginably Abraham will be the one to lead the line this weekend.
