Sky Sports report that “Aston Villa have scheduled a medical for Tammy Abraham tomorrow.” It is also stressed that “It is not a done deal yet but there is agreement in principle on the main aspects.” That wording matters. Medicals can be procedural, but they also signal confidence that negotiations have moved beyond exploratory talks.
Villa are expected to pay “£18.2m (€21m) for Abraham.” In a market where proven Premier League forwards often command far higher fees, this represents a calculated gamble on pedigree, fitness and hunger. Abraham’s name still carries weight and Villa appear to believe the value aligns with upside.

Sky Sports also note that “Villa’s Turkey centre-back Yasin Ozkan, who is currently on loan at Anderlecht, is also expected to sign for Besiktas.” With “a value in the region of £26m (€30m),” this outgoing move suggests Villa are actively balancing recruitment with smart asset management.
From a supporter’s perspective, this feels like a mix of excitement and nervous energy. Tammy Abraham back in claret and blue sounds bold, even romantic, but there is also scepticism about whether he is the forward who lifts Villa to the next tier. At £18.2m, fans will argue it is sensible business, yet many will quietly wonder if this is a gamble on reputation rather than recent dominance.
There is excitement about what Abraham could bring, pace in transition, physical presence in the box, and a striker who understands the rhythm of English football. Supporters will say, “If he stays fit, he scores goals in this league,” and that belief will drive optimism in pre season conversations.
At the same time, the Ozkan situation raises eyebrows. Turning a £6.9m investment into a potential £26m valuation feels like sharp work, but some will worry about depth and long term planning. Is this funding Abraham, or is it part of a wider reshaping?
Overall, Villa fans are likely to be cautiously hopeful. This feels like a club pushing forward, but with enough uncertainty to keep expectations grounded.
