Arsenal’s season has reached its boiling point. With the Gunners currently locked in an agonisingly tight Premier League title race, Mikel Arteta has to somehow pivot his squad’s focus to the ultimate European stage.

Tomorrow night, Arsenal face Diego Simeone’s stubborn Atletico Madrid in a blockbuster Champions League semi-final first leg.

As the squad took to the pitches at London Colney for their final preparations, the cameras from Sky Sports News caught a massive injury update that is sure to leave fans feeling a mix of massive relief and lingering anxiety.

Eze and Calafiori involved in training for Arsenal

The best news of the morning is undeniably the sight of Eberechi Eze and Riccardo Calafiori back in full training.

Eze, who scored the winning goal against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, went off against the Magpies after suffering an injury.

However, that injury was not serious and he was spotted in Arsenal’s training today ahead of their Champions League semifinal.

If there is one thing you need when trying to break down Atletico’s notorious, deeply-entrenched low block, it’s a player who can produce a moment of magic out of thin air and Eze is that player for Arteta.

On the other side of the ball, Calafiori’s involvement is a massive sigh of relief for the defense.

Gunners will be without crucial trio against Atletico

However, the training session wasn’t entirely good news. As widely feared following his early substitution against Newcastle, Kai Havertz was nowhere to be seen.

Adding to the headache, both Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino also remained absent from the group.

Tomorrow night is going to be the ultimate test of Arsenal’s squad depth and mental toughness.

While missing the focal point of Havertz and the midfield stability of Merino is incredibly frustrating, Arteta will be relieved to have Eze fully fit once again.
