Thomas Tuchel and his players have already qualified for nest summer’s finals which will see 48 nations take part, with matches to be played in Canada, Mexico and the USA.

England already guaranteed to top their qualifying group despite two matches still to play, England at home to Serbia this Thursday night, then away against Albania on Sunday.

The 2026 World Cup finals actually kick off exactly seven months today, on 11 June 2026.

With the clock ticking down, Sky Sports asking a number of pundits who they see as their first choice England team for next summer, to kick off in their first group match in those 2026 World Cup finals.

Darren Ambrose has been speaking to Sky Sports to give his first choice England team for next summer’s World Cup, this is his starting eleven:

“I changed it about six times actually. There’s two there you would probably question.

“Tino Livramento…I had Reece James there to start with. But having covered the Under 21s [Euros] tournament, I think every single game when I was asked afterwards what player could make that step up, every single time it was Livramento and one other, or Livramento on his own. I think he gives us that power going forward from right-back and I know Reece James does so as well. But for me, Livramento is ahead.
