Before the mercato’s opening, AC Milan pondered the choice to add two strikers to their attacking line this summer, and they have decided who the third player will be.

During the past week, Alvaro Morata’s negotiations have been finalised, and reports from the weekend have stated that he will be a Milan player following his medical with the finances of the deal already agreed.

However, he will not be the only front-line addition this summer, and this was a decision made several months ago.

When Joshua Zirkzee was still the leading favourite, and the Rossoneri were deciding on Olivier Giroud’s future, the idea of a three-striker department was favoured, given the Frenchman was offered a deal with heavily reduced minutes. Now Giroud has left, and Zirkzee is a Manchester United player, but the idea remains intact.

With Morata joining the club, he will be the primary prong of a three-striker trident, and Luka Jovic is the second part, and it seems the Diavolo have decided who the final part of the puzzle is.

Recently, Tammy Abraham and Jhon Duran have been named as potential targets, but it seems that Niclas Fullkrug is the player chosen. As Sky reports, Geoffrey Moncada and the rest of the management see the German as the ‘right profile to reinforce the attack’, and there have been positive contacts so far.

Whilst Abraham and Duran still feature on the list, the favoured option is the German, and contacts are set to be made this week.
