Arsenal travel to the Fortuna Arena tonight, aiming to continue their perfect start to the Champions League against Slavia Prague.
The Gunners are in formidable form. In fact, they currently sit top of the Premier League. They have also won all three of their opening European games without conceding a single goal. Slavia, conversely, are still searching for their first win in the new league phase after two draws and one loss from their three matches.
Slavia Prague are dealing with a significant injury crisis. Manager Jindřich Trpišovský is missing a long list of players for this game. This includes key figures like captain Jan Boril, Tomas Holes, and Igoh Ogbu. However, creative midfielder Lukas Provod is fit. He will be expected to lead the side in their absence.
Arsenal’s squad is also stretched thin by injuries. First, Mikel Arteta will be without key midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who must serve a suspension. Furthermore, captain Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus are all unavailable due to injury. To make matters worse, attackers Viktor Gyökeres and Gabriel Martinelli are also major doubts after picking up muscular issues over the weekend.
Slavia Prague are yet to win in the Champions League. They have only managed two draws from their first three games. Domestically, however, they remain a dominant force at the top of the Czech First League. They should also arrive with some confidence after a 4-0 cup win over Zlín last week.
Arsenal are in flawless form. Their 2-0 win at Burnley on Saturday marked their ninth consecutive victory in all competitions. Crucially, it was also their seventh straight clean sheet. In the Champions League, their record is perfect, with three wins, zero goals conceded, and a +9 goal difference.
Slavia Prague predicted XI: Markovic; Zima, Chaloupek, Vlceck; Moses, Oscar, Zafeiris, Mbodji; Provod; Chory, Chytil
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Nwaneri, Norgaard, Rice; Saka, Merino, Trossard
