Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic has been appointed to oversee PSG's eighth and final Champions League league phase meeting with Newcastle at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday at 21:00.
PSG are chasing direct qualification for the last 16, avoiding the play-offs, and need a win against Newcastle to secure it. According to L'Équipe, Vincic will take charge of his sixth Champions League match of the season.
On the previous league phase matchday he officiated Marseille's 0-3 home defeat to Liverpool at the Vélodrome.
Wednesday will be the 10th time he has taken charge of a French club. His past assignments include PSG three times, two wins and one defeat, Marseille twice, two defeats, Lille twice, one win and one defeat, plus one match each for Saint-Étienne, a draw, and Guingamp, a win.
It will be the fourth time he has refereed PSG in this competition. The most recent was last season's semi-final first leg at Arsenal, won 1-0 by the Parisians in London.
Vincic, 46, brings major tournament experience, having handled the 2024 Champions League final, Dortmund v Real Madrid, 0-2. He also refereed the Euro semi-final between Spain and France, 2-1, and the 2022 Europa League final, Frankfurt v Glasgow Rangers, 1-1, 5-4 on penalties.
