Slot reveals Liverpool have suffered another injury blow

Arne Slot has confirmed that forward Cody Gakpo is set to miss “a few weeks” through injury.

Gakpo picked up an issue in the 3-3 draw with Leeds and looks set to be out until the new year.

“Cody Gakpo, unfortunately, picked up an injury against Leeds and he will be out for a few weeks,” Slot said.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa is likely to miss the Champions League clash with Inter Milan on Tuesday through illness.

“Federico is ill, so that is poor timing but not something you can do anything about,” Slot said.

“We’re monitoring his situation and if he has an amazing recovery – that we and the doctors don’t expect – he may travel tomorrow.”

Slot has also responded to comments made by Mo Salah in his outspoken interview on Saturday.
