The league match between Celtic and Dundee in 1895 was expected to be a close encounter but injuries to several key players forced the visitors to field a weakened team. Things got worse during the game, with Dundee reduced to nine men. Celtic showed no mercy, racking up eleven goals against their beleaguered opponents. Allan Martin, who was Celtic’s top scorer that season with 18 goals, remarkably failed to get on the scoresheet during the game.
