Swansea City fans are fuming with their side's defeat away to Preston, with some calling for the corner flag image.
Swansea City manager Alan Sheehan is coming under scrutiny from Swans supporters following their disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Preston North End, with many fans calling for drastic action to be taken on the Irishman.
After a promising end to the 2024/25 campaign, having come in as a caretaker manager following the sacking of former Notts County boss Luke Williams, Alan Sheehan was handed the Swansea City hotseat on a permanent basis.
The former Leeds United and Luton Town left-back took the Swans on a five-game winning streak through April 2025, and was subsequently handed the top job in South Wales as a result.
Coming into this season, there was a clear buzz around the club, with expectations set high.
Swansea backed Sheehan in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Adam Idah, Zeidane Inoussa, Marko Stamenic and Ethan Galbraith for over a combined £10 million, whilst Malick Yalcouye joined on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion and Cameron Burgess on a free transfer from Ipswich Town respectively.
However, the Welsh side are yet to really get going in the Championship this season, and because of the expectations set upon them at the beginning of the campaign, the 17th position that they find themselves in the league table has brought increased pressure upon manager Sheehan.
A 2-1 defeat away to Preston on Wednesday night, where, according to FotMob, Swansea found themselves having 67 per cent possession of the ball and 18 shots compared to Preston's four, has seen some fans have had enough and call for Sheehan to lose his job ahead of the international break.
This defeat means the South Wales side has won just one out of their last six league matches, which came against the struggling Norwich City, as pressure begins to pile upon Sheehan.

It didn't take long for Swansea fans to log on to social media and voice their displeasure with their side's performance against Preston on Wednesday night.
The Lilywhites took the lead through a sublime strike from former Charlton Athletic wing-back Thierry Small, in what will go down as one of the goals of the season, before Milutin Osmajic doubled the home side's advantage early on in the second half, outmuscling Josh Key before slotting past Lawrence Vigouroux in the Swans' net.
Eom Ji-sung's late strike sparked late hope for the away side, but the damage was already done, and fans made sure to make their opinions known to the club.
The corner flag photo is synonymous among football fans, where a club statement is released via social media, usually indicating that the manager/head coach has been sacked, and that is what this Swansea fan is hoping for here with Sheehan.
A damning indictment of Sheehan, who has seemingly lost a portion of the Swans fanbase's faith in him, making their opinion of wanting him out clearly known.
The Swansea post is Sheehan's first in professional management, and this fan has claimed that a lack of experience is ultimately going to be his downfall, and that the club should look in a different direction towards someone who knows the league and senior management better than the Irishman.
This Swansea fan furthers the corner flag rhetoric, with pressure mounting upon Sheehan.
Swansea fans have created their own bingo cards for what they keep seeing game-by-game, making for not so pretty viewing.
This Swans fan has gone and got their own corner flag image, reinforcing the general consensus around the fanbase right now towards Sheehan.

With four wins, five draws, and five defeats after 14 league games so far this season, it hasn't exactly been the campaign that many Swans fans would have been hoping for, or expecting.
The Welsh outfit still sits some way off of the relegation places, eight points above Norwich City in 22nd, and actually sit closer to the play-off places, six points off of Charlton Athletic.
However, despite this, there is no getting around the fact that recent results have simply not been good enough, especially with the prior expectations placed upon them at the beginning of the campaign.
With a home game against Ipswich Town their final fixture before the international break, a positive result will likely see Sheehan retain his post beyond the break, but a negative one will put him in a precarious position.
The Championship is as close as ever this season, with none of the parachute payment teams in the top nine of the table, there is a real chance for someone to come in and grab this golden opportunity with both hands, with Swansea fans left frustrated that they are not making the most of this chance.
Sheehan must simply get a result on Saturday against Ipswich to secure his job, otherwise, changes in South Wales may be made sooner rather than later.
