Somehow, Rangers have just appointed someone WORSE than Kevin Thelwell | OneFootball

A lot is being made today about a bit of a social media meme and viral post that’s been doing the rounds about Kevin Thelwell’s son. Robbie Thelwell was nepotistically appointed under his father. He has become a figure of the toxicity that is the situation surrounding the Thelwells at Rangers. The big breaking story about him is the depressing number of signings that he made at Norwich City. 12 of them that left that side more or less marooned at the base of the table. Robbie Thelwell’s Rangers influence could be toxic.

Thelwell’s troubled record

The simple version is he is as dire as his father at signing players. Or both of them are doing it for reasons outside of football, which we alluded to yesterday regarding Youssef Chermiti. The short version is that Rangers now have two men in charge of signings who have brought in nothing but complete dross.

A costly transfer disaster

And not just to Rangers, but to Everton and to Norwich. It is an absolutely shambolic situation that not only have Rangers broken a transfer record in one summer of around about £45m or £35m. Not only have Rangers done that, but in doing so, Rangers signed the worst squad we’ve ever had with that money. We wasted so much cash on the likes of Chermiti, Aasgaard, Fernandez, yes remember him, and of course Cortes too.

A worrying future

Ultimately, Rangers have wasted so much money under Kevin Thelwell, and have now brought in his son. He has a track record of doing exactly the same thing. Rangers are in serious doo-doo. The whole Thelwell family appears to be a deeply toxic influence on every club it’s at. Rangers are very much in trouble under them with Robbie’s track record of bringing in as much rubbish as his father does. Robbie Thelwell’s Rangers influence isn’t wanted. It’s not exactly the best news to have for Rangers fans, is it?
