Enzo Marsesca has worryingly revealed that Cole Palmer is still feeling some pain in his groin which will need to be monitored.
Palmer has been plagued by a groin injury which has limited him to just six appearances in all competitions this season.
The England international returned to action against Leeds earlier this month, and started the draw against Bournemouth, but understandably still looked rusty.
As part of his recovery process Palmer was left out of the squad for the trip to Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Maresca has confirmed Palmer is available for Saturday’s huge game against Everton, with the Blues currently winless in their last four games, and in desperate need of three points.
Whether Palmer starts or not is unclear, but Maresca has worryingly admitted he’s still feeling a bit of pain in his groin.

“In terms of the mixed feeling, he had a session with us, overall he was fine, but still it was a little bit painful,” he told Chelsea’s official website.
“It’s something we need to monitor. Hopefully it won’t be for the full season, but it’s something that is a little bit day-by-day.
“You can see it is getting better and then some days it can be worse.
“For instance, after Leeds it was completely bad the day after and he played half an hour. After Bournemouth it was okay and he played one hour.
“So there is not any sense to it, but it is the day-by-day that decides how he feels.
“At the moment, absolutely he is in that group that can’t start every game.”
Chelsea were handed another boost ahead of the Everton game after Maresca confirmed Wesley Fofana was fit and available.

Fofana went off in the second half against Atalanta after taking a boot to face, and Maresca said his eye was “quite bad” after the game.
However, the Frenchman has made a full recovery and will likely partner Trevoh Chalobah in the heart of the defence, with Chelsea hoping to record another clean sheet against the Toffees, who have four of their last five games.
