The winger has delivered a parting message to Potters supporters following his exit.

Stoke City faced a battle to hold onto their talisman Sorba Thomas, and unfortunately for the Potters, the winger left in the dying embers of transfer deadline day.

The 27-year-old joined Hull City for a significant undisclosed fee, signing a four-year contract at the MKM Stadium, completing his rise from the National League to the Premier League in the space of five years.

Thomas arrived at the Bet365 Stadium last summer from Huddersfield Town, scoring 10 and assisting 13 times in the league and was named Stoke's Player of the Year while earning himself a place in the Championship Team of the Season.

Now, the left-winger has delivered a parting message to Potters supporters after completing his move to Hull.

Thomas' spell at Stoke was short but sweet, but there is no doubting the impact he made during his year at the Bet365 Stadium.

Indeed, the winger made an immediate impact in red and white, providing a goal and assist during his league debut against Derby County before delivering two assists and another goal in his next two performances.

Despite the Potters' torrid form, the Wales international remained a consistent threat throughout the season, and if it were not for his contributions, then the club would have been a genuine contender for relegation.

Last night, it emerged that Thomas could be leaving for Hull after it was reported that he would miss Stoke's clash with Norwich City as Mark Robins' side notched a timely 1-0 win.

Of course, that came to fruition, but it did not take the 27-year-old long to thank Potters supporters following the completion of the move.

"Thank you Stoke City for giving me the platform to thrive and entertain!" he said on his Instagram story. "Good luck for the future and I'm sure we will meet again one day."

How will Stoke cope without Thomas?

There is no question that Thomas will be a miss for Stoke, but last night's victory over the Canaries was a timely boost for Robins, who is already feeling the pressure.

The Potters lined up with a front three at the Bet365, with Million Manhoef, George Hirst and Jun-ho Bae spearheading the attack.

Jun-ho Bae occupied the left flank and did an encouraging enough job without ever really posing a threat in front of goal, although he showed his ability to get up and down the wing.

Robins is now short of natural options on the left, meaning the South Korean could continue there, while the club did sign left-back Luca Bombino on deadline day.

It is fair to say that a bulk of Stoke supporters have not reacted well to Thomas' exit on social media.

However, one did see the positive side of the move and delivered a dig at the Potters players in the process.
