Roma attacker Matias Soule was all smiles after scoring the lone goal in his side’s 1-0 away win over Parma this evening.

The Argentinean’s spot kick goal propelled the Giallorossi to their third consecutive away win in Serie A ahead of Thursday’s return leg against Porto in the Europa League.

“When I was standing there with Leandro (Paredes) and Mancio (Mancini), they didn’t want me to take it,” Soule told DAZN.

“But I told them to let me shoot because I had already scored from that position before. Afterward, they said, ‘We didn’t believe in you, well done!'”

He continued, “It was my first league start under Ranieri—I’m not sure what changed, but I’m very happy. I really wanted to play, I’m always ready whenever I get the chance, and he gives me confidence.”

“Whether I play on the right or in midfield, I always give 100% for the team.”

Finally, Soule was asked how fired up he and his teammates are for the return leg against Porto.

“11,” he responded bluntly.
