Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister as a key reinforcement for their midfield next season, according to Defensa Central. 

At 26, the Argentine has the right mix of youth, experience, and fitness that Madrid are looking for, sitting between the injury concerns of Rodri and the inexperience of Adam Wharton.

The outlet claims that Mac Allister is among the top options under consideration to reinforce the midfield. 

Madrid have already started to gauge his interest, as the midfielder has previously expressed admiration for the club and a desire to play in Spain. 

His current contract with Liverpool runs until 2028, which could complicate negotiations, but Real Madrid are confident that with careful planning, a deal could be reached without paying an exorbitant fee.
