Sources: Arsenal advancing on one deal but "surprising" update also emerges | OneFootball

Declan Rice’s new contract talks with Arsenal are heading in a positive direction. It’s not fully agreed yet, but there’s optimism from all sides about a deal being done soon.

Elsewhere in the squad, three other big names also have contracts coming to an end in 2028, and, unlike Rice, there’s less certainty about what the future holds.

Those players are Kai Havertz, David Raya, and club captain Martin Odegaard.

Interestingly, I’ve been told at various points in the last few months that these contract talks should happen soon, and at this point I’m still being told more or less the same thing, so the lack of progress feels noteworthy.

That obviously doesn’t mean these talks definitely aren’t happening for any worrying reason – delays are normal for all sorts of reasons, but it’s not something the club will want to drag on for too much longer.
