Marcus Rashford has reportedly been offered to Fenerbahce via intermediaries this week, ‘sources have told’ Turkish Football.
The outlet claims that contact has indeed been made in order to gauge whether Fenerbahce would be interested in signing the forward.
Manchester United remain open to facilitating his sale in order to secure a sizeable fee, which would be classed as pure profit due to his status as an academy graduate.
Yet, they can only do so if the player actually green-lights the potential switch. From his point of a view, he will stay put at Old Trafford unless a suitor from one of Europe’s top-five leagues comes calling.
It’s well known that Rashford’s priority heading into the summer was to rejoin Barcelona either on loan or permanently, but they opted against activating his £26 million buy option and instead brought in two wingers in the form of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.
As a result, the 28-year-old reported back to Carrington over a week ago to begin his pre-season preparations; Rashford, along with Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, were granted an extended break due to their World Cup involvement to the final stages.
Rashford represented his boyhood club for the first time since December 2024 on Saturday when he came off the bench to make a brief cameo against AC Milan.
It remains to be seen what kind of role he’ll play when the new term officially gets underway this weekend, as he is vying with the likes of Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha for a starting spot.
