A new report from Defensa Central has added an unexpected twist to Real Madrid’s transfer planning, revealing that the club are now seriously evaluating the possibility of signing Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
With Madrid looking ahead to their long-term structure in the middle of the pitch, internal discussions have begun about whether the current midfield profile offers enough creativity for the seasons to come.
The coaching staff and board admire the physical qualities of the current lot, and they are convinced of the technical ability of Arda Guler and Jude Bellingham.
However, the feeling inside the club is that the mix still lacks a natural playmaker who can consistently dictate rhythm.
That is where Szoboszlai enters the conversation. His salary at Liverpool is considered relatively low, which only strengthens Madrid’s interest.
However, his name brings a layer of tension because he has a known history of friction with Guler.
The relationship between the two attacking midfielders has been strained since their national teams faced each other in a double-header, which later spilt onto social media.

During the match, Szoboszlai reportedly said something on the pitch that annoyed the young Real Madrid talent. In response, Guler snapped back and told him “to shut up.”
The exchange did not end there. After the match, the Liverpool midfielder took a jab at Guler’s limited role at Real Madrid at the time.
Before this situation escalated further, Guler hit back with a pointed message, writing, “This guy’s a joke, isn’t six goals enough for him?”
Despite this tension, Real Madrid are still evaluating Szoboszlai as a serious candidate for the creative role they feel is missing.
The club is fully aware that personal feelings cannot dictate transfer strategy, and if the club decides that Szoboszlai is the right addition, then the Hungarian could indeed walk into the dressing room alongside the very player he previously clashed with.
Guler may not welcome the idea, but ultimately, Real Madrid will do what they believe is best for the squad.
