South Shields have confirmed Hummel as their kit partner for the 2026/27 season.
The club said in a statement that the Danish brand will supply bespoke match kits, training wear, travel apparel and supporter merchandise, with new designs to be unveiled in the coming weeks and further launch details to follow.
The agreement follows an investment deal with the ORY Investment group that was finalised earlier this month. Chairman Geoff Thompson, new manager Mike Williamson and members of the reshaped ownership then travelled to the Far East to meet potential sponsors and visit the Chinese FA and local academies.
Preparations for the new campaign include Williamson’s appointment as successor to Ian Watson, who left for League Two club Rochdale last week, and the announcement of several pre-season friendlies.
Shields wore Umbro-branded match and training kit during last season’s unsuccessful push for promotion to the National League, but will switch to Hummel for the forthcoming campaign.
Hummel have also strengthened their North East footprint by agreeing a multi-year extension with Sunderland, having returned as the Black Cats’ kit partner in summer 2024. Sunderland were then promoted to the Premier League and finished seventh in their first season back to secure a Europa League place.
