Southampton are keen to find a permanent buyer this summer for their record signing Guido Carrillo.

He arrived in January 2018 from Monaco for a fee of over £19m but he has had a disastrous time of it at St Mary’s.

During his time on the south coast, he has made a total of 10 appearances and is yet to find the back of the net.

Carrillo spent last season on loan in Spain with Leganes but Southampton aren’t keen on another temporary move for the misfiring striker.

The Southern Daily Echo report that the Spanish side are keen to bring Carrillo back to LaLiga next season, albeit on another loan deal.

However, the Saints are not keen on letting the Argentine go out on loan again and if he does leave St Mary’s this summer, it will be for good.

Southampton have now decided to cut their losses on Carrillo and are eager to take what they can get for him by way of permanent offers.

Carrillo, who has two years remaining on his current deal, is also reportedly a target for Boca Juniors in his homeland.

The hope within the club remains that they can strike a deal with Leganes, who want him and where he would be happy to return, stump up the funds to make his move permanent.
