Southampton reject Benfica’s €20m bid for Taylor Harwood-Bellis | OneFootball

Southampton have rejected a €20m offer from Benfica for 24-year-old centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who has been targeted to replace António Silva.

According to David Ornstein, the bid fell short of the Saints' valuation, the club remain open to talks, and Harwood-Bellis is interested in a move to Benfica. He is also considered one of Marco Silva's priorities.

A Manchester City academy graduate, he made eight senior appearances, one in the Champions League, before leaving in winter 2021 for loans at Blackburn Rovers, Anderlecht, Stoke City, Burnley and Southampton, where he became a key performer.

Last season for Southampton he played 48 matches, 43 in the Championship, four in the FA Cup and one in the League Cup, totalling 4,323 minutes with seven goals and two assists. He is valued at €20m.
