Southampton star will return from World Cup heartbreak ready to impress | OneFootball

Cyle Larin’s World Cup ended in disappointment against Morocco, and the Canada forward now heads back to Southampton determined to impress after the heartbreak.

According to Sainstmarching.com, the World Cup is into the knockouts, with France edging Paraguay in the round of 16 and rated among favourites to lift the Jules Rimet trophy.

He will look to channel that setback into club form as Southampton eye promotion. Last season he struck eight times from only 949 Championship minutes, looking made for the division. He wants to pick up again in August and is surely eager to surpass his 19-goal best with Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.

At the moment he is well out in front as Eckert’s chosen starting marksman, with Ross Stewart leaving and Cameron Archer rumoured to be on the move. EFL pundit Adrian Clarke has described him as a quality Championship striker, and he would be over the moon if he became the talisman to lead Southampton back up.
