Southampton ‘to rival’ West Brom for AEK playmaker Dimitris Kaloskamis in January | OneFootball

Southampton are weighing a January move for AEK Athens playmaker Dimitris Kaloskamis, with the 21-year-old keen to leave. TEAMTalk reports that the Saints are monitoring the Greece U21 international as they consider joining the race.

Kaloskamis has reportedly asked to depart the Super League Greece champions after limited senior minutes at his boyhood club. Southampton are tracking developments.

West Bromwich Albion are also interested, while Levante have been linked from La Liga. A bid of around £three million has been suggested as enough to tempt AEK to sell.

Capable as a number ten or on either wing, the six-foot-one attacker would add depth in advanced areas if a deal materialised. He has played his entire career in Greece.

Kaloskamis has registered three goals and three assists in 22 senior appearances across two campaigns under Marko Nikolic. Before AEK, he impressed in Panathinaikos’ youth ranks with 12 goals for their U18s and B team, and he was included in the Guardian’s Next Generation list in 2022.
