Southampton is targeting Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg's manager Liam Rosenior as their new boss.
Remember Southampton's recent Stanford Bridge Trip? Despite the 0-4 result being out of the Saints' favor, you might remember the matchday.
This is mainly due to the "Battered again, ole, ole" humorous chants. Definitely, you would have enjoyed it in the moment as well.
But, hey, did you brainstorm why the fans took the Chelsea defeat so lightly? It can't be a coincidence from a crowd that disrespected Smallbone the other day.
Well, this was because of Southampton's notable relations with the Blues. The two clubs have seen multiple moves between them, like Romeo Lavia and Oriel Romeu, with a recent one being Lesley Ugochukwu.
Safe to say, the two clubs have turned to each other in need, with them holding a trustworthy relationship. And that's what is to help Southampton now.
The Saints' management woes and Ivan Juric's struggles have been widely known. Now, while the club has kept tabs on Sheffield boss Danny Rohl, they fancy their chances for Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg's manager.
As per TBR Football, Southampton's interest has peaked in Strasbourg's boss Liam Rosenior. Having turned around the French club's fate in less than a year, the Saints eye him as an ideal candidate to succeed Juric in the new St. Mary's project.
Still, needless to say, materializing a move for Liam Rosenior won't be easy when his developments attract various offers from Europe.
Now, that's where Southampton enjoys the Chelsea relation advantage. Interestingly, to aid it, the Saints' connections with Strasbourg come in handy too, who they had loaned out prodigy Sam Amo-Ameyaw.
Understanding this, it's easy to realize that Southampton, despite not being a European powerhouse, can secure Rosenior's services.
