Head coach Tonda Eckert says tomorrow’s Championship meeting with Bristol City will come too soon for injured Caspar Jander. The midfielder could get minutes at Wrexham a week after Saturday’s game, the final outing before the international break.

According to Daily Echo, Jander, 23, has yet to feature this season while recovering from a quad problem. He made 43 appearances last term and established himself as a key figure.

Eckert said it is too early for Jander tomorrow, and that they will push in the hope of some minutes at Wrexham. He added they must delay the return a little, but he thinks the player is on his way.

Saints are aiming to make it four wins from four at home in the league after Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City. They are unbeaten in five Championship matches since an opening-day defeat to Watford.

Asked about any fresh concerns, Eckert said there was nothing new from the midweek game.
