Spain beat USA and France draw 3-3 with Canada in their opening matches at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

Group A: Cameroon 2-2 Mexico, Colombia 2-0 Australia Group B: France 3-3 Canada, Brazil 9-0 Fiji Group C: Paraguay 2-0 Morocco, Spain 1-0 USA Group D: Germany 5-2 Venezuela, Nigeria 1-0 South Korea

Naomi Eto scored twice as Cameroon came from two down to draw with Mexico, levelling the scores on 85 minutes. Also in Group A, Colombia beat Australia with goals by Yunaira Moreno and Linda Caicedo.

Canada were twice pegged back by France before getting an 84th-minute equaliser themselves through Annabelle Chukwu to draw 3-3. The other Group B game saw Brazil thrash Fiji as seven players got on the scoresheet.

Olaya Rodriguez’s eighth-minute goal was enough for Spain to beat USA, elsewhere in Group C Maria Leiva got both goals of the game for Paraguay against Morocco, the second from the spot.

Nigeria edged South Korea with Flourish Sabastine breaking the deadlock with four minutes left of the 90. Loreen Bender bagged a brace late in the first half, during Germany’s 5-2 victory over Venezuela in Group D.
