After a 3-0 win over Bulgaria, Spain are gearing up for a tougher challenge tomorrow evening as they take on Turkey.

Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal suffered an injury scare in the first game, but it was later revealed to be minor discomfort.

Nevertheless, coach Luis de la Fuente will be wary of the players’ fatigue, knowing most of the stars are braced for a difficult club football schedule.

What de la Fuente said about Yamal and Ferran

Keeping that in mind, De la Fuente, in his pre-match press conference, spoke about Ferran Torres and his position, with respect to the physical condition of other attackers in the team.

The Spain national team coach revealed that the Barcelona forward is training well and his condition will be assessed before the match.

“The decision has to be made at the last minute. We have to see how we are training and how we feel. Fatigue, knocks. We’ll assess. Ferran is training very well and is a sure bet. He has complete and absolute confidence,” he said (h/t AS).

Ferran was an unused substitute during Spain’s win over Bulgaria, so one would expect him to lead the line for La Roja this time around.

With 21 goals in 49 matches, the former Manchester City star will look to mark his 50th appearance for his country with a goal.

“Lamine Yamal and Guler are tremendous players with their characteristics and potential. Both are very good. We have Lamine, who brings us so much joy. A young man eager to continue growing and improving, with ambition,” he said.

It must be noted that Yamal is one of the favourites ahead of the big Ballon d’Or gala in Paris later this month.
