Spain boss De la Fuente confirms plans to use Barcelona star in different role | OneFootball

Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has revealed his intention to make use of Pedri in a more advanced role to the one which he currently occupies for Barcelona.

Midfielder Pedri, for his part, is of course in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular individual campaign to date.

Having seemingly put his long-standing fitness woes behind him, the 22-year-old has rediscovered his brilliant best form.

Pedri is considered one of the very first names on the team sheet of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, occupying the space at the base of the Blaugrana’s engine room.

Despite his onging excellence in this position, however, Luis de la Fuente has on Friday confirmed his intention to make use of Pedri’s talents further up the pitch over the weeks ahead.

Speaking during a press conference after unveiling his latest squad of players earlier in the day, Spanish headmaster De la Fuente explained:

“Pedri plays a bit deeper for his club, while here we will see him in a more advanced role.”
