Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has early this week hinted at the potential inclusion of Barcelona star Joan García in his next squad.
Goalkeeper Joan is for his part of course fresh off a whirlwind last few months.
Following another starring season on the books of Espanyol, the 24-year-old was snapped up by the aforementioned Barcelona, who opted to activate the release clause in his Pericos contract.
Joan, in turn, has gone on to immediately secure the no.1 spot in Hansi Flick’s star-studded Blaugrana squad.
After playing his part in a pair of back-to-back victories to open the campaign, the shot-stopper, in turn, could well be in line for another momentous achievement over the days ahead.
Speaking to the media ahead of the announcement of his latest squad of players later this week, Spain boss Luis de la Fuente was drawn on the potential inclusion of Joan.
And in quotes relaid by Mundo Deportivo, the tactician went on to confirm:
“It’s not because he’s at Barcelona. He did very well at Espanyol. I met him when he was 18 or 19 years old. I know of his potential from previous seasons. He could easily make it.”
