All eyes will be on Erling Haaland as Norway take on Spain on Sunday night. With his national team, Haaland has already scored 27 goals in 27 games and the Spanish defence will have their work cut out against the Manchester City striker.

Álvaro Morata will be operating in the other final third on Sunday and his record with Spain is not to be ignored. As Marca report, Morata is going through one of the best spells of his career. He has netted seven goals in the seven games he has played this season for Atlético Madrid and stayed at the La Liga club despite with being linked with several clubs over the summer.

Morata was Luis Enrique’s first-choice striker with the national team. The Asturian coach gave him the confidence that few had given him before and defended him tooth and nail when he was criticised off the field. Morata responded with goals, scoring 16 to become the top scorer during Luis Enrique’s spell with La Roja.

Under current Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente, Morata has been a starter in every game except for the defeat against Scotland in Glasgow. Alongside fellow forward Joselu, the Atlético marksman is the top scorer under De la Fuente, with four goals to his name.

Against Norway in Oslo, Morata will represent his country for the 68th time. He made his debut under Vicente del Bosque in November 2014 and has gone on to score 34 goals for La Roja, one every two games.

David Villa is Spain’s all-time top goalscorer with 59 goals. Morata is only one goal behind the recently retired David Silva in fourth place and is closing in on Fernando Torres (38) and Raúl (44).
