Spain host Czechia in Oviedo on Saturday in Nations League Group 3, seeking to keep a perfect start that would move them close to the quarter-finals. The world and European champions arrive buoyed by a 4-1 win over Croatia.
According to Superdeporte, Luis de la Fuente could rotate for a third game in seven days, with a trip to Split on Tuesday also in mind. Alejandro Grimaldo, Nico Williams and Ferran Torres are out with fitness problems.
Lamine Yamal, brilliant in Seville with two goals and an assist and a scorer at Wembley, may be rested after heavy minutes. Víctor Muñoz or Yeremi Pino could come in, while Mikel Oyarzabal may lead the line and Mikel Merino could fill the No 10 role.
Pedri and Rodri may partner in midfield, with Fabián Ruiz possibly making way. At the back, Iván Fresneda could debut and Fran García is in contention, with Aymeric Laporte, Dean Huijsen and Robin Le Normand competing for two centre-back spots.
The Carlos Tartiere last hosted Spain in 2015, a 2-0 win over Slovakia, and is sold out for a seventh senior international. Spain are chasing a 10th straight victory and aiming to extend their record unbeaten run to 41 matches, and they have not lost a competitive game since March 2023.
Santi Denia’s Czechia, assisted by Pablo Amo, are bottom after defeats to Croatia, 1-2, and England, 0-2. Vladimir Coufal skippers a squad mixing experience and youth, with Lukas Ambros and Adam Hlozek likely threats, while Pavel Sulc is suspended.
