Spain have issued medical updates on Yéremy Pino and Nico Williams after both were injured against Uruguay at the World Cup on Friday.

The federation announced that Pino has sustained an acromioclavicular sprain with no rupture diagnosed, while Williams has a right adductor muscle injury following a forceful challenge. Williams has not been ruled out of featuring again later in the tournament.

The Crystal Palace winger replaced Lamine Yamal after the break and damaged his shoulder area in a heavy collision with a Uruguayan opponent. He left the pitch but returned, with Spain having already used all five substitutions.

Williams also came on in the second half and required further assessment after the match. He finished in clear discomfort.

Pino’s availability for the remainder of the World Cup is in serious doubt, with his recovery dependent on how the injury evolves. Spain will monitor both players in the coming days.
