Kenan Yildiz has been back in pre-season training for more than a week, but the match against Chelsea marked his first appearance on the pitch for Juventus during the current preparations.

The Turkiye international played the final 27 minutes of normal time and provided the assist for Edon Zhegrova to score the only goal of the match. Yildiz remains the most important player in the Juventus squad, and the club has not considered selling him at any price during this summer transfer window.

Juventus taking a careful approach

The Old Lady continues to protect Yildiz carefully, reflecting the value they place on him and explaining why there has been no rush to bring him back into action. The club is determined to ensure that he returns to full fitness without taking unnecessary risks.

Towards the end of last season, Yildiz suffered an injury that continued to trouble him even during the World Cup. He has since returned fit for pre-season, and Juventus are pleased with the progress he has made as he works towards reaching his peak condition.

Spalletti pleased with his progress

Yildiz enjoys playing for Juventus, and Luciano Spalletti is delighted that the attacker has overcome his injury problems. Even so, the club is continuing to take a cautious approach to his involvement in matches, particularly those that are non-competitive, with the focus remaining on his long-term fitness throughout the campaign.

Speaking about the attacker, the manager said, as quoted by Alfredo Pedulla: “Yildiz? He is a very important footballer for us. For this reason, we are carefully managing his playing time, trying to build a correct schedule and work path to have him at his best throughout the season. But the fact that he is no longer in pain, that he is smiling and free to express his football is what makes us most happy.”

Juventus believe that carefully managing Yildiz’s workload will give him the best opportunity to remain fit and perform consistently throughout the season. His successful return from injury is an encouraging development for both the player and the club as preparations continue for the competitive campaign ahead.
