There’s no better start than a winning one, and that’s exactly what Luciano Spalletti enjoyed in his first game as Juventus Men’s First Team coach. The Bianconeri won 2-1 on the road at Cremonese on Serie A Matchday 10.
It was already a day of celebration for the Club on its anniversary, and for Filip Kostic who was celebrating his birthday on Saturday. Filip marked the occasion in serious style by opening the scoring with fewer than 90 seconds on the clock.
The Bianconeri kept pushing for a second, and Manuel Locatelli took aim from range more than once. Lois Openda tried his luck as well, but there was to be no way to beat Emil Audero again in the first half.
Cremonese themselves then went in search of a goal to level things up, but Michele Di Gregorio kept our goal well guarded to maintain the lead.
Back at the other end, Dusan Vlahovic went within inches of doubling the advantage on the end of a Weston McKennie centre, but just couldn’t stretch out far enough to turn the ball home.
Within moments of that missed chance, though, Andrea Cambiaso made it 2-0. Francisco Conceicao, fresh off the bench, made space on the right and the ball made its way to Cambiaso in the box, who kept his cool to finish and give the guys breathing room.
Jamie Vardy pulled one back for the hosts inside the final 10 minutes, but that was where the scoring stopped, meaning the points headed back to Turin with us.
