Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Gyrano Kerk will remain at the Belgian champions Antwerp until June 2024. The 27-year-old, who joined thanks to the ruling around players who play in Russia, scored six goals in 21 matches as Antwerp won their first title since 1957. Kerk wanted to remain at Antwerp and now the club will keep him and under the agreement just pay his wages. After the 2024 season, Kerk will return to Lokomotiv Moscow.
Kerk joined Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2021 and played 51 games, scoring eight goals. Kerk broke through at FC Utrecht, where he made over 170 appearances between 2016 and 2021, scoring 41 goals in the process. At Antwerp, Kerk was utilised as a striker and a winger, depending on the situation.
Antwerp are hoping to bring back another of last seasons championship winning squad. They have an agreement on a four-year contract with Calvin Stengs ready to go, but an agreement on a transfer fee still needs to be struck with his club Nice.
