The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has announced the launch of its official end-of-season awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate the standout individuals who have delivered exceptional performances throughout the 2024–25 Roshn Saudi League campaign.
The awards will be presented following the conclusion of the final matchweek (Matchweek 34) of the current Roshn Saudi League (RSL) season.
The season awards will include six categories: Best Player of the Season, Best Young Player, Best Saudi Player, Best Coach, the Golden Boot for the league’s top scorer, and the Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper.
These awards represent the league’s commitment to spotlighting excellence and motivating continued improvement across all levels of competition.
As part of the league’s continued drive to develop its operations and ensure transparency and inclusivity in its processes, this year’s awards will see the introduction of an expanded voting panel.
The panel will include the head coaches and captains of all participating clubs, in addition to 18 of the Kingdom’s leading sports journalists.
This diverse group of voters reflects the league’s commitment to honoring those who have made the most significant impact on the pitch, with perspectives drawn from both within the game and the media that covers it.
The SPL Season Awards are aligned with the objectives of the league’s transformation strategy, which aims to elevate the professional football ecosystem in the Kingdom and position the league among the top globally.
Recognising and celebrating top performers is a key element in raising competitive standards, enhancing engagement with fans, and creating commercial value.
The SPL launched its transformation strategy in early 2023, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The strategy focuses on several core pillars, including the development of young talent, the attraction of elite international players, and the advancement of club governance and performance standards.
These efforts are contributing to a more competitive, entertaining, and globally respected football league.
Commenting on the announcement, SPL Chief Commercial Officer Wael Al Fayez said: “The Season Awards reflect our continued efforts to advance Saudi football and support the objectives of our transformation strategy.
"They are an opportunity to honour the best, and to recognise the dedication and excellence that have defined this season.
Al Fayez added: “By expanding the voting panel to include both club leadership and media professionals, we aim to bring a broader and more balanced perspective to the selection process.
"We thank all the nominees for their tremendous efforts and wish them the best of luck, as we continue working together to grow the game and build a lasting legacy for football in the Kingdom.”
