The club said in a statement that the 24-year-old has arrived on loan from Cuiabá until November.
Max began at Tupi-MG before joining Flamengo, where he made his senior debut in 2021. He was part of the squad that won the Carioca that year.
Later in 2021, Flamengo loaned him to Cuiabá. He was then sold to Colorado Rapids in the United States, before returning to Cuiabá in 2024 on a deal running to December 2028.
Flamengo, meanwhile, have already added centre-back Vitão and goalkeeper Andrew for 2026. Lucas Paquetá of West Ham remains on their radar.
Flamengo face Vasco next in the third round of the Carioca, with kick-off at 21:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã.
