Sporting beat PSG 2-1 in Lisbon, Luis Suarez scoring twice as the visitors had almost 75 percent possession but lacked cutting edge. Lucas Chevalier's handling was costly and Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia's strike could not salvage a result.

According to L'Équipe, Sporting thrived on the counter, with Rui Silva steady, Trincao lively and left-footed Geny Catamo dangerous on the right. Suarez was given 8, and the team averages read 5.3 for Sporting, 4.3 for PSG.

Warren Zaïre-Emery briefly thought he had headed PSG ahead on 30 minutes, but VAR penalised a Senny Mayulu foul. Chevalier's first save arrived on 65 minutes, then a weak parry preceded the corner that led to Suarez's opener on 74.

Kvaratskhelia levelled on 79, set up by Ousmane Dembélé, who was flagged offside for two of PSG's three disallowed goals. Bradley Barcola was replaced by Gonçalo Ramos on 71 as Luis Enrique shuffled, with Zaïre-Emery moved into midfield late on.

Désiré Doué had more than 100 touches for the first time in his career yet failed to influence proceedings, and lost the ball before Suarez's precise 90th-minute header after another Chevalier parry. Nuno Mendes recovered 11 balls but offered little attacking thrust.

Mayulu started up front with tidy passing but limited impact before making way for Kvaratskhelia on 66. The coach's selections were not decisive, with only that change offering respite.
