Sporting have overtaken Benfica as Portugal’s most valuable club, while FC Porto remain the country’s strongest brand.
According to O Jogo, Brand Finance’s Football 50 2026 report values Sporting at €250 million after 35% growth, placing the club 19th worldwide.
Benfica grew 15% to €219 million, falling behind their Lisbon rivals. FC Porto are valued at €192 million after seven percent growth, and retain 95% international fan recognition as Portugal’s strongest club brand.
Sporting director and vice-president André Bernardo said the club’s rebrand aimed to sharpen a long-standing identity, rooted in forming people through sport and the motto Effort, Dedication, Devotion and Glory. He cited five cardinal elements, emblem, crown, lion, stripes and porta 10-A, now aligned as one identity.
