With an international break upon us, it's always a time for Championship managers to work on their ideas, and implement new and existing strategies. However, in Millwall's case, you'd seem to think that Alex Neil and his side wouldn't have wanted the break after a quality 3-0 win over West Brom.

After a heavy 0-4 loss to Coventry at the Den a week prior, the Lions for sure got back on track and looked to be building some momentum that had been halted by the stoppage for the international period.

Sitting just one point outside the play-off positions with fellow high-flyers QPR up next, Millwall fans will be wanting a return to action to come around quicker than ever as they look to cement their place in the top 6 which ever so slightly eluded them last year.

The club posted a training video via X on Thursday which caught the attention of many Lions' fans, with four previously injured players having returned to training, which has given Neil a huge boost for their trip to Loftus Road.

Returning quad almost gives Alex Neil a full-strength squad

All four of Millwall's returning players are key for the club, with only the goalkeeper Lukas Jensen yet to return to the fray after rupturing his Achilles back in April.

Lions fans will be most excited about the return of their new left-back Alfie Doughty, who arrived at the club from Luton Town in the summer. His proven defensive ability, as well as his exciting nature to get forward and be one of the main providers in the team has been dearly missed after such an impressive start to the campaign.

The 25-year-old was the standout performer in their opening day victory against Norwich as he set up Macaulay Langstaff's late winner with a perfectly weighted through ball into the striker's path. But, after being forced off due to a hamstring injury in gameweek two against Middlesbrough, the full-back will be hoping to pick up where he left off.

Another absentee that we could well see return to action for Neil in the near future is the reliable defender Dan McNamara. After being sidelined since January when the Irishman picked up a serious knee injury against Cardiff, the right-back has been the club's Mr. Consistent down the right flank over the course of his five seasons at the club.

McNamara took part in light training over the summer but looks to have now stepped up the intensity with his return being imminent.

Alex Neil handed boost from short-term injury returners

As well as the more long-term players returning to action soon enough, the 28-year-old Belgian, Casper De Norre, is another one who will seek to work his way back into the starting XI after being a regular for Neil.

The midfielder made a positive start to the season and looked to be nailed on to occupy one of the two roles in the engine room for Millwall, but that was temporarily cut short in their EFL Cup clash against Championship rivals Coventry City. De Norre played in all of their 46 league matches last campaign and therefore, you'd think that the fan-favourite would slot straight back into his place once given the opportunity.

The young Daniel Kelly was also spotted back in training in the video posted by Millwall on their social media and will be hoping to be that creative spark off the bench once more for the Lions. After coming off early on in the game in their EFL Cup round three fixture against Premier League outfit, Crystal Palace, Kelly has only had to wait three weeks for his return but could prove to be a difference maker on a regular basis.
