Tottenham are one step closer to completing a truly stunning double deal, with news today from TeamTalk that Omar Marmoush has agreed terms on a five year contract.
He and teammate Savinho will join Spurs for a combined £140m, bringing a fresh wave of pace and directness to a Spurs attack which has looked lifeless in recent times. The deal for Brazilian Savinho has apparently “already been finalised”, while Marmoush’s move is only one step behind now that personal terms are apparently agreed.
There is “confidence the remaining formalities can be completed over the weekend,” not a moment too soon with the new Premier League season now underway.
In turn, the attacking additions are apparently making striker Richarlison consider his future at the club. Everton are said to be interested in re-signing him.
Spurs have refreshed their team from front to back with a monster summer aimed to keep them clear of the relegation fears of recent years. If these deals are indeed done for a combined £140m, that will mean their spending has reached £400m, very close to the £440m all time Premier League record set by Liverpool last summer.
One interesting aspect of this deal is the 15% sell on clause for Marmoush which City are apparently dodging having to pay Frankfurt by combing the deals into one.
We’ve heard to hear anything really authoritative on how that works – and whether those reports are true – but we’re sure details will come out soon enough.
